Many affirm to be Universalists, but seem to shy away regarding the Devil and his fallen angels being reconciled to their creator. Christus victor is not a modern theory of the atonement as some would have us believe, but was the predominant belief of the early Church and a Divine reality that Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the enemy, 1 John 3:8. The Lords death and resurrection conquered every negative thing in the universe namely sin, sickness and death, therefore completely eradicating the disease of cosmic evil. Christ being the resurrection and the life, and by whom the worlds were framed, and thus being the creator, maintainer and sustainer of the whole universe , will reconcile and restore all things to the Father at their appropriate time and each one in their own order.

This book was originally written in German by Georg Klein-Nicolai a pseudonym of Paul Siegvolk and printed in 1753. The book proved to be a massive influence for Elhanan Winchester and resulted in his conversion to universalism and ultimately helped birth the Christian Universalist movement across America. Although in my best endeavors I have tried to keep the script in its authenticity, some of the old English verbiage has been changed for practical and readability purposes.

Christian Universalism is a solid scriptural truth, that all of God’s beloved creation, both Celestial and Terrestrial alike, will be reconciled and completely restored by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Him being the Universal Redeemer and the Saviour of the world. It also believes that all of Gods judgments are corrective and remedial in their purpose and application. Christian Universalism is not a Unitarian faith that believes all paths and faiths lead to God.

One of the biggest controversies of the book is that it explains in practical terms the restoration of the Devil and his fallen Angels. The very root of original sin being itself pride, which was found in the highest angel Isaiah 14:12-17, and that original pride found in him has evolved to such an extent, that the very thought of him having to bow down and submit himself to the Lord of hosts, is a heinous abomination to him; he therefore would let people believe the biggest conspiracy and lie of all time, that himself, his angels and the majority of mankind who ever lived will burn for eternity in some make believe inferno.

My deepest conviction in translating Siegvolk’s work is that it may add balance to the Universalist faith in respect of Gods judgements, that indeed they are not light, yet be they ever so harsh, they are remediate and restorative in all the Lords dealings with His beloved creation. I pray this book will bless and encourage its readers to embrace the all-inclusive, all-encompassing and all-conquering love of God.
